In the 1920’s and 30’s, roadhouses thrived throughout the outlying rural areas of big cities like Chicago, IL and Cleveland, OH. Although these places were not always the safest, or even legal, (due to prohibition), they were a part of American history that intrigues a lot of people.
From this beginning, the roadhouse became known as, “Mom and Pop,” family eateries that grew along the country roads before the great highway expansion of the late 50’s.
Cody’s Original Roadhouse, which originated in Tarpon Springs, FL in 1994, is a throwback to these comfortable family eateries, with the emphasis on, “Just Plain Good Food®,” simply prepared in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The food at Cody’s is influenced by the rich flavors of America’s heartland. Chickens turn lazily on the rotisserie while diners watch flames licking at their steaks in the open kitchen. Cody’s, “Where Quality and Value Come Together®.”
